CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey’s Undisclosed Plan To Make Africa A Bitcoin Hub

While leaving Africa on Wednesday Jack tweeted "Sad to be leaving the continent…for now. Africa will define the future (especially the bitcoin one!). Not sure where yet, but I’ll be living here for 3-6 months mid 2020. Grateful I was able to experience a small part."

Data Support Jack's Claim

Bitcoin interest in Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa has been amongst the highest in the world over the last 24-months.

According to google trends, for the last two years highest number of search request for bitcoin had came from five African countries namely South Africa at first position followed by Nigeria, Austria, Netherlands and Ghana.

Data is not Enough?

Not only data many other experts from cryptocurrency world have share their optimistic view on the future of bitcoin and blockchain in Africa.

Nate Hindman, head of growth of Bancor told Decrypt " In emerging markets like Africa, the shallow reach of traditional money systems means there’s less resistance to new financial technology ".

Major blockchain based company and crypto exchanges have already placed their plan to expand their operation in Africa. As well as many blockchain developers are working on various projects across Africa.

Jack also revealed his plan to stay for 3 to 6 months somewhere at Africa in 2020 and its likely that he will reveal his plan to concur Africa in crypto space.

Another social media giant Facebook is also planning to reach unbanked people around the world through their high hyped Libra cryptocurrency.

Jack hasn't revealed his actual plan to increase crypto adoption in Africa or help the unbanked Africans but he might not be creating another cryptocurrency like Libra to compete with bitcoin or Libra.
